What is E/e-mark certification?
The E mark originates from regulations issued by the Economic Commission for Europe (ECE). The E-Mark, or European Common Market, is a certification mark mandated by the European Commission for motor vehicles, safety components, and systems in member states, based on EU directives. The testing organization must be a technical service provider within an EU member state. Certificates issued by certification bodies in EU member states have corresponding numbers:

E/e-mark certification mark
The e-mark mark comes in two forms: a rectangular frame and a circular frame, representing different content requirements:
Circular frame: For products that must be used in both stationary and moving vehicles, such as windshields, seat belts, headlights, etc.
Rectangular Frame: Refers to products that can be used normally but are not essential for use when the vehicle is stationary or in motion, such as: car chargers, car lights/flashlights, car air pumps, car massage/heated seat cushions, car fans, car electric kettles, car refrigerators, car coffee makers, car TVs/audio systems, car electric jacks, car vacuum cleaners, car power tools, etc.
E/e-mark Certified Product Scope
1. Complete Vehicles – Two-wheeled or three-wheeled or more motorized vehicles, such as buses, trucks, motorcycles, buses, and off-road vehicles.
2. Automotive and Motorcycle Parts and Components – Headlights and bulbs, various side mirrors, tires, rims, brakes, horns, anti-theft devices, seat belts,
automotive glass and exhaust pipes, etc. (NTEK)
3. Automotive and Motorcycle Accessories – Helmets, child safety seats, in-vehicle electrical products, etc. (NTEK)

A01 New Customer Information Form (For first-time E/e4/8 applicants, otherwise leave blank)
A02 Initial Audit Form (For first-time E/e4/8 applicants, otherwise leave blank)
A03 Contract between Applicant and Manufacturer (Required if manufacturer and applicant are different, otherwise leave blank)
A04 Letter of Authorization (Required)
A05 Application Form (Required)
A06 Declaration of Product Conformity (Required if multiple models are involved, otherwise leave blank)
A07 Trademark Usage Instructions (Required if applicant needs to use a brand other than their own, otherwise leave blank)
A08 Affiliate Declaration (Required for affiliated relationships)

E/e-mark Certification Process
1. Manufacturer prepares technical documents and samples.
2. Testing is conducted.
3. Factory inspection is required for first-time applications. (Manufacturers who have already obtained ISO 9000 or other quality system certificates issued by EU certification bodies are generally exempt from factory inspections.)
4. Submission of test reports and manufacturer technical documents for review.
5. Issuance of certificate by European transport authorities (The issuing body may conduct regular or irregular follow-up factory inspections of the certified product manufacturer).
E/e-mark Certification Factory Inspection
A factory inspection is required for the first application (manufacturers who have already obtained ISO 9000 or other quality system certificates issued by EU certification bodies are generally exempt from factory inspections).
E/e-mark Certification Cycle
Standard processing time is 4-5 weeks; expedited processing is available for an additional fee.
